Shortstop Chris Rinaldi has been a successful and trusted student-athlete and leader for the Holy Cross baseball team during his four-year career on The Hill.
An All-Patriot League selection and team MVP as a sophomore, Rinaldi has been one of the strongest players in the Patriot League in recent years, batting .315 in conference action during his career. Despite a shortened 2020 season, Rinaldi still ranks 10th in program history with 161 career starts – more career starts than any member of the 2020 roster. He additionally ranks in the top 10 in school history in assists and double plays turned, in addition to walks and stolen bases.
As a senior, he was en route to his best offensive season yet, batting .319 and slugging .468. He was named the Patriot League Player of the Week during the final week of the season after hitting .476 in five appearances against CSU Bakersfield and UC Riverside.
Rinaldi (Westfield, N.J.) has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll multiple times in his career. He will graduate Holy Cross with a degree in psychology, and plans to continue his education and playing career at the University of Richmond next year.
