WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior Alex Elia has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week, for competition from March 23-29. Elia helped lead the Holy Cross men’s golf team to an eighth-place finish at the UC San Diego Invitational.

During the UC San Diego Invitational, Elia claimed fifth place as an individual, finishing the tournament at six-under par (210 strokes). On the second day of the tournament, he shot a six-under par 66, tying for the lowest round in Crusader program history.

On the season, Elia is averaging a team-best 74.0 strokes per 18 holes. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has averaged 74.7 strokes per round.

Holy Cross returns to action when it takes part in the Shark Invitational at the Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, N.Y., from April 13-14.
