Alex Campagna of the Holy Cross men’s cross country and track and field teams has been a leader for the Crusaders’ distance running squad, serving as a team captain.
His 2019 cross country campaign as a senior was a strong one, as he was the second-highest finisher for the Crusaders at the NCAA Northeast Region Championship, running a personal-best time of 31:58.2 on the 10-kilometer course. He also had PRs in the 5K (16:36.5) and five-mile (27:22.2).
His track and field personal bests include a time of 8:53.12 in the 3,000 meters and 15:38.00 in the 5,000 meters. In 2019-20, he ran consistent times in the 3K, including placing third in the event at a dual meet with New Hampshire in a time of 9:11.96.
Campagna (Bristol, R.I.) has earned six total selections to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll between cross country and track and field, and has been heavily involved with the Crusaders’ work with Team IMPACT. He will graduate Holy Cross with degrees in Spanish and international studies.
