Junior forward Michael Abgrall of the Holy Cross men’s ice hockey team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for the week of March 3 - March 9.

Abgrall proved to be the hero for the Crusaders in the winner-takes-all quarterfinal game three on Sunday night, netting a breakaway goal just 51 seconds into the overtime frame off a stretch pass by senior Liam McLinskey to send the Crusaders to the Atlantic Hockey semifinals, marking his fourth game-winning goal this season. Abgrall also picked up an assist on junior Mack Oliphant’s shorthanded goal in Saturday’s 3-2 win, blocked two shots, and won 17 faceoffs over the weekend series.

No. 1 seed Holy Cross (22-13-2) will host no. 5 seed Army in the best-of-three Atlantic Hockey semifinal round, beginning on Friday, March 14 at 7 p.m.
