Junior running back Jordan Fuller of the Holy Cross football team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for competition from Aug. 28 to Sept. 3.

Fuller helped lead Holy Cross to a 42-20 victory over Merrimack on Saturday, Sept. 2. Fuller totaled five touchdowns on the day – the most touchdowns scored by a Crusader in a single game since Gordie Lockbaum against Dartmouth in 1986 – with four touchdown rushes and one receiving score. His 120 rushing yards were a career high.

Fuller is the first Crusader to rush for four touchdowns in a single game since Steve Silva did so against Bucknell in 2005; Fuller also moved into fifth place in program history with 26 career rushing touchdowns.

For his efforts, Fuller received the Week 1 Gold Helmet Award from the New England Football Writers, and was also named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week and the Stats Perform FCS National Offensive Player of the Week.

The No. 5 Crusaders (1-0) travel to face FBS foe and historic rival Boston College on Saturday, Sept. 9. Kickoff in Chestnut Hill is set for noon.
