Holy Cross Athletics

WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior guard Joe Octave has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week, for competition from Dec. 19-25. Octave averaged 18.0 points and 3.5 rebounds for the Holy Cross men's basketball team in a pair of games last week, while hitting 53.8 percent of his field goal attempts and 40.0 percent of his three-pointers.
 
During last Monday's game at New Hampshire, Octave led the team with 19 points and five rebounds. Then in Thursday's contest at Sacred Heart, he tied for the team lead with 17 points.
 
On the season, Octave is now averaging 10.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
 
Holy Cross (3-10 overall) returns to action on Friday, Dec. 30, when it plays host to Bucknell in its Patriot League opener at 2:00 p.m.
