WORCESTER, Mass.— Senior defender Caitlin Little of the Holy Cross field hockey team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week, for competition from Aug. 23-29. Little helped lead the Crusaders to a 3-0 win over Saint Francis in their season opener.

Little assisted freshman Meggan Fourie's goal and also helped anchor a defensive unit that posted the Crusaders first shutout since 2019. The victory also marked Holy Cross' first season opening win since 2016. 

The Acton, Mass. native was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League team. In her career, Little has started 21 of 36 games played and scored two goals. The assist against Saint Francis, marked the first of her career.

Little and the Crusaders are back in action at Vermont on Sunday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m.
