Junior pitcher Kelly Nelson of the Holy Cross softball team has been named the Crusader of the Week for competition from May 3-9. Nelson earned two wins in the circle for the Crusaders, including her second collegiate no-hitter, as she allowed zero earned runs through 21 innings of work during the team's four game split with Army.

The Norton, Mass. native started the weekend off with the no-hitter in a 1-0 win at Army. She went the full seven innings without giving up a hit, issuing just two walks, and striking out eight. In her second appearance of the weekend, Nelson earned another victory, this time 2-1 at home over Army. While the Black Knights were able to push across a single run, it was unearned as Nelson allowed just five hits and struck out three.

On the weekend, Nelson worked 21 innings without giving up an earned run and struck out 13, while allowing just 14 hits and four walks.

Nelson finishes the season with a 1.84 ERA and four shutouts, both career bests, as well as 120 strikeouts and a .226 opponent batting average.
