WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior midfielder Maguire Sturgis, junior goalkeeper Mia McCloskey, and freshman forward Marianna MacLean were named to the 2026 NFHCA Division I Watchlist, as announced by the NFHCA on Thursday.
 
Sturgis, who started all 16 games for the Crusaders last season, finished the 2025 campaign with a career and team-high 23 points on nine goals and five assists. A two-time captain, Sturgis earned All-Patriot League First Team honors following the regular season. On Tuesday, she was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team for the second-straight season.

McCloskey, who also started all 16 games last season, finished the year in 2025 with 6-10 record, 2.58 goals-against average, .750 save percentage and 123 saves in 967 minutes played. Her 7.69 saves per game average last season led the Patriot League and ranked ninth nationally following the conclusion of the regular season.

MacLean, a native of Edinburgh, Scotland, begins her Holy Cross journey this season. Prior to Holy Cross, MacLean represented Scotland at the U16, U18, and U21 levels, achieving over 50 junior caps, earning Most Valuable Player honors on three occasions: against New Zealand at the U21 Junior World Cup, Poland at the U18 European B Division Championship, and Switzerland at the U18 Four Nations. A standout at the club level as well, MacLean suited up for the Edinburgh Grange Ladies of the Scottish Women's Premiership, helping the team to a 2023 U18 Girls Club Cup Championship, 2022 and 2024 U16 Club Cup Championship, and the 2023 Ladies National Plate Finals.
 
The group are three of 212 student-athletes from Division I institutions to be added to the list. The watchlist recognizes field hockey student-athletes who have demonstrated a high level of achievement and are considered among those with strong potential for NFHCA All-Region and All-American consideration this season.
 
To be nominated for the 2026 NFHCA Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years (NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-American, All-Conference, Senior Nexus Championship selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, and/or U.S. National or International Team roster) and the student-athlete's head coach must be an active NFHCA member.
