Halligan named to TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week

LONG BEACH, Calif- Fifth-year midfielder Sam Halligan of the Holy Cross women's soccer team was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

Halligan scored three and assisted once as Holy Cross defeated Stonehill and Brown this past week. Halligan recorded her first Division I brace and assisted an Abby Cushing score against Stonehill on Aug. 19, leading the Crusaders earn their first win of the year.

Halligan followed up the performance on Sunday, Aug. 23 against Brown, burying a shot from 25 yards out to help Holy Cross earn its first win over the Bears in 27 years. Halligan has contributed on every goal for Holy Cross through the first four games of the year and already surpassed her previous season's total of four. She currently leads the Patriot League in total points (12), goals (5) and is tied for second in assists (2). Halligan was also named Patriot League Midfielder of the Week on Monday, Aug. 24.
