Halligan, Mila earn Patriot League weekly honors

WORCESTER, Mass.- Fifth-year midfielder Sam Halligan and junior goalkeeper Antriana Mila both received weekly honors from the Patriot League on Monday, August 24. Halligan was named Midfielder of the Week, while Mila earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors for competition from Aug. 17-23.

Halligan picked up her first career Patriot League weekly award after tallying three goals and an assist in two games this past week against Stonehill and Brown. On Wednesday, Aug. 19 against Stonehill, Halligan recorded her first Division I brace and added an assist to help the Crusaders earn their first win of the 2026 season. She scored twice in an eight-minute span, including the game-winning penalty kick in the 82nd minute.

On Sunday, Aug. 23 against Brown, Halligan drilled a shot from 25 yards out into the top-right corner of the goal in the 62nd minute, breaking a scoreless tie and leading the Crusaders to their first win over the Bears in 27 years. Halligan has contributed on every Holy Cross goal through the first four games of the season and already surpassed her season total from 2025. She currently leads the Patriot League in total points (12), goals (5) and is tied for second in assists (2).

Mila earned her first weekly honor from the Patriot League after recording the first clean sheet of her career in the Crusaders' win over Brown. The third-year netminder made a career-high seven saves, including two within a nine-second span off a Brown corner kick in the 73rd minute, successfully preserving Holy Cross' 1-0 lead. Prior to Sunday, she recorded five saves in the team's 3-2 win over Stonehill. Mila has started all four matches for Holy Cross this season, posting a 2-1-1 record with 18 total saves.
