WORCESTER, Mass. – Four members of the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team have earned All-Patriot league honors, as voted by the conference's head coaches. Junior
Kate Avitabile and senior
Racheli Levy-Smith were named to the first team, while junior
Annabel Brennan and sophomore
Hadley Cepiel were selected to the second team. In addition, Levy-Smith was honored as the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, becoming just the second player in program history to win that award.
Levy-Smith earns All-Patriot League honors for the third straight year, after being named to the first team in 2025 and the second team in 2024. She started all 17 of Holy Cross' games on defense this year, leading the team with a program single-season record 191 draw controls, 41 caused turnovers and 41 ground balls. Levy-Smith ranked second in the conference with averages of 11.24 draw controls and 2.41 caused turnovers per game, while standing fourth in ground balls per game (2.41). Over the course of her career with the Crusaders, she recorded a school-record 475 draw controls, 111 ground balls and 88 caused turnovers in 61 games played.
Avitabile started all 17 games for the Crusaders at attack this season. The team's leading scorer with 64 points on 11 goals and 53 assists, she broke the school single-season record for assists. Avitabile ranked second in the Patriot League in assists per game (3.12), while standing eighth in points per game (43.76). During her collegiate career, she has now recorded 27 goals and 79 assists for 106 points in 40 games played, ranking third all-time in assists.
Brennan started all 17 of Holy Cross games this season in the midfield, ranking fourth on the team in scoring with 30 points on 26 goals and four assists. She also stood second on the squad in ground balls (26), draw controls (19) and caused turnovers (13). Over the course of her career with the Crusaders, Brennan has totaled 84 points on 74 goals and 10 assists in 52 games played, to go along with 62 draw controls, 58 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers.
Cepiel started all 17 games for the Crusaders at attack this season. She ranked second on the squad in scoring with 53 points on a team-best 43 goals and 10 assists, while converting on 14 of 21 free position attempts. Cepiel ranked 10th in the conference in goals per game (2.53) and stood second in both free position goals per game (0.82) and free position percentage (.667). Over the course of her collegiate career, she has totaled 56 points on 45 goals and 11 assists in 22 games played.
Holy Cross finished the season with an overall record of 7-10, while going 5-4 in Patriot League play and advancing to the Patriot League Tournament for the fourth straight year.
