WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross women's lacrosse program was recognized for academic excellence as a 2026 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad, while eight student-athletes were named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. 

Senior Kate Burns, senior Phoebe Matuch, senior Sophia Pyne, junior Anna Affolter, junior Kate Avitabile, junior Annabel Brennan, junior Jenn Prince and junior Tess Prunier were the eight Crusaders selected to the Academic Honor Roll. Burns, Matuch and Pyne were all honored for the second straight year, becoming the 13th, 14th and 15th players in school history to win the award twice. Holy Cross' eight total selections to the Academic Honor Roll were the most in program history.

To be named an Academic Honor Squad, a team must possess at least a 3.20 team grade point average for the year. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic grade point average of 3.50 or higher. 
 
Holy Cross has been named an Academic Honor Squad the last 10 times the award has been given out, and 12 times overall in program history.
