WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior right-handed pitcher Jaden Wywoda has been named the Patriot League Pitcher of the Week the league offices announced Monday afternoon. It is the first time this season and third time in his career Wywoda has been named the top weekly pitcher.
 
The reigning Patriot League Pitcher of the Year and Preseason Pitcher of the Year helped lead Holy Cross to its eight straight series win against conference opponents when he took the bump in game one of the series at Lehigh on Friday, March 21. The Crusader ace hurled a complete game seven-inning shutout (0.00 ERA, 0.72 WHIP) picking up the victory to move to 3-1 on the year. Wywoda scattered four hits and one walk while striking out a career-high nine batters, holding opponents to a .167 batting average against. The complete game shutout was the second of his career (vs. Navy, March 30, 2025), it was his fourth career complete game.
 
Wywoda moved to a tie for fifth place on the program's all-time career wins list (19). He needs two more victories to pass Ron Perry (1952-1954) for fourth place. His nine strikeouts vaulted him to eighth place on the program's all-time list (166). He needs 34 more punchouts to become only the third Crusader in program history with 200+ strikeouts.
 
The senior captain has allowed two or fewer earned runs in five of six starts in 2026. He ranks tied for the Patriot League lead in wins (3), while ranking fourth in innings pitched (33.2), fifth in strikeouts (25), seventh in ERA (3.48), and seventh in batting average against (.222). Across two conference starts, leads the league in wins (2), ranks second in ERA (0.69), third in innings pitched (13.0), and third in strikeouts (13).

Holy Cross (9-13, 5-1 PL) has won three straight games and five of its last seven contests. They host Harvard (2-14, 1-2 PL) for the 2026 home opener on Wednesday, March 25 at 4:30 p.m.
