Cahalan, Flanagan named to Academic All-Patriot League team

WORCESTER, Mass.- Seniors Meg Cahalan and Kaitlyn Flanagan of the Holy Cross women's basketball team were selected to the 2026 Academic All-Patriot League team, the league office announced on Monday, Mar. 9.

Cahalan, an accounting major, posted a 3.54 cumulative grade point average through the fall semester of her senior year. This marks her second major conference honor of the postseason after earning first team All-Patriot League recognition on Friday, Mar. 6.

Cahalan ranks third in the Patriot League in field goal percentage and is tied for the league lead in free throw efficiency, shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 84.6 percent from the line. Through 18 league games, she averaged 15.3 points per game, along with 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists. Cahalan has finished in double figures on 24 or more occasions this season and 44 times in her collegiate career.

Most recently, Cahalan led all scorers with 21 points on 9-of-14 shots and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, guiding the No. 2 Holy Cross to a 72-36 win over No. 10 Colgate in the 2026 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Quarterfinals on Monday, Mar. 9. She also added five rebounds, two steals and an assist.

Flanagan, an english major, earned a 3.71 cumulative grade point average through the fall semester of her senior year. The honor marks her second 2026 postseason league recognition after being named second team All-Patriot League for the second straight year.

Flanagan enjoyed an outstanding regular season campaign that saw her eclipse 1,000 career points (1,024), 500 career assists (530), and a program record 126 career starts (128). She also led the Patriot League in assist to turnover ratio (1.9) and total assists (116) while finishing third in assists per game (4.0).

No. 2 Holy Cross returns to the court on Thursday, Mar. 12 to take on No. 3 Army West Point in the semifinal round of the 2026 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Playoffs. Tip is set for 6:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on the Holy Cross Ticket Office website or by calling 1-844-GO-CROSS.
