Kulis and Sachs earn medals on day one of Patriot League Championships

BOSTON- Senior Celia Kuilis and junior Bridget Sachs both earned bronze medals for the women's track and field team on day one of the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships. The women's track and field team finished day one in sixth place out of ten teams with 18 total points.

Kulis took home the bronze in the women's pentathlon after compiling 3,526 points. She won the 60m hurdles portion with a time of 8.62 and the shot put with a mark of 11.07m. Kulis also qualified for the final of the women's 60m hurdles, finishing third in the prelim with a time of 8.56. Sachs picked up bronze in the women's pole vault after clearing 3.80m. 

MEET HIGHLIGHTS: 
  • Senior Ester Mokonchu set a new personal best in the weight throw, recording a mark of 17.53 meters to finish fifth.
  • Senior Abby Granrath qualified for the women's mile final after recording a new personal best time of 4:51.96 to finish ninth in the prelim.
  • Sophomore Abby Desmarais qualified for the final in the 60m dash with a time of 7.66 in the prelim. Desmarais also finished ninth in the 200m with a time of 24.69.
  • Junior Siena Brunetti placed 10th in the 5,000m with a time of 17:07.95.
  • Granrath, junior Annabel Murray, senior Fiona Doherty, and senior Alex Lusby finished seventh in the 4x800m with a time of 9:06.62.
UP NEXT: 
  • The Crusaders conclude the Patriot League Championships, tomorrow, Mar. 1 at Boston University. Competition is set to get underway at 11:00 a.m.
