Kulis to compete for Team USA in 2026 FISU America Games

Celia Kulis, a 2026 graduate of the Holy Cross women's track and field program, will represent Team USA at the 2026 FISU America Games in Lima, Peru, competing in the women's heptathlon from July 30-31.

"I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to represent the USA and compete alongside other talented athletes at the FISU America Games in Lima, Peru this July" said Kulis. "Being selected is truly an honor, and I could not have reached this point without the incredible support system around me. Thank you to my family, friends, coaches, professors, and teammates for constantly encouraging and believing in me throughout this journey. I am excited to represent not only my country, but everyone who has helped me get here. Go Team USA!"

Kulis concluded her final season on The Hill, becoming the first Patriot League women's heptathlon champion in school history, resetting her previous program record with 5,171 total points in the event. She finished first in the 100m hurdles (13.66) and shot put (12.59m), placed second in the 200m (25.14), third in the long jump (5.55), fifth in the high jump (1.57m), sixth in the javelin (31.92m) and ninth in the 800m (2:34.23) to win the gold medal.

Kulis also secured a bronze medal in the 100m hurdles at the league championship, posting a time of 13.78. She qualified for the finals with a record setting performance on Friday that saw her break Holy Cross' program record as well as Navy's facility record with a time of 13.47 in the prelims.

"To say we're proud would be an understatement" said Richard L. Ahern '51 Director of Cross Country and Track and Field, Egetta Alfonso. "Through years of hard work and dedication, Celia has grown into an exceptional athlete over the past four years. Watching her success this season has been incredible, and it's all leading to the remarkable honor of representing the United States."

Taking place from July 20 through Aug. 1, the FISU Games showcase top athletes from nations throughout North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. Eligibility extends to current collegiate athletes and recent graduates through the end of the year following graduation.
