WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman Shane McDonnell of the men's lacrosse team earned Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Week honors, as announced by the league on Monday.

McDonnell recorded 30 faceoff wins over the Crusaders' two games this week, finishing the week with a 62.5% win percentage.

McDonnell tacked on 13 ground ball pickups over the two games, and recorded a career-high 17 faceoff wins on Saturday against Sacred Heart. McDonnel is now 42-for-68 on the season at the faceoff X, and his 61.8% success rate is the third-highest among faceoff specialists with 30+ attempts in the Patriot League this season. This is his second-straight Patriot League weekly honor.

McDonnell and the Crusaders (2-2) continue their homestand on Saturday, Feb. 21 when they welcome Le Moyne to Kuzniewski Field for a 1 p.m. matchup.
