Men’s basketball travels to Lafayette on Saturday

The Holy Cross men's basketball team is back on the road on Saturday, Jan. 17 to take on Patriot League foe Lafayette in the Kirby Sports Center at 1 p.m. The contest will stream live on ESPN+

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (8-10, 3-2 PL): 
  • The Crusaders are off to their best start in Patriot League play since 2016-17 following an 82-75 win at home against Army. Five players scored in double-digits for Holy Cross including sophomore guard Tyler Boston who had 20 points and five assists while freshman forward Aiden Disu double-doubled (11 points, 11 rebounds) for the first time in his collegiate career.
  • Junior guard/forward Gabe Warren was named Patriot League Honorable Mention on Monday by the league office. He averaged team-bests in points (16.0) and rebounds (6.0) while shooting a squad-high 81.3 percent (13-of-16) from the field which ranked third in the conference for the week ending Jan. 11.
  • Across five league games, Warren ranks third in the conference in field goal percentage (65.8, 25-for-38). His classmate, junior forward Declan Ryan ranks fifth in field goal percentage (61.3, 19-for-31).
  • As a team, Holy Cross set a season-high in three-point percentage (59.1) and three-pointers (13) in the win over Army on Wednesday.
  • Junior guard/forward Joe Nugent moved to fourth place on the program's all-time three-pointer list following a 4-for-7 (57.1 percent) performance. Nugent has knocked down 174 three-pointers in his Holy Cross career and needs 18 more triples to climb to third place on the program's all-time list (191, Devin Brown 2008-12).
  • Holy Cross Athletics announced on Monday, Dec. 22nd that the court in the Hart Center Arena will be dedicated and named in honor of Crusader and NBA legend Bob Cousy. A formal dedication of the Bob Cousy '50 Court will take place on Saturday, Feb. 7 prior to the game against Lehigh on Winter Homecoming Weekend.
  • Holy Cross is the sixth ranked Patriot League team in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (314th). They rank 295th (101.9) in offensive rating and 304th (115.0) in defensive rating.
SCOUTING THE LEOPARDS (4-14, 1-4 PL): 
  • Lafayette has lost seven of their last eight games including a 76-69 setback to Bucknell on Wednesday. Christian Humphrey-Rembert scored a game-high 21 points with five three-pointers, four rebounds and one block in the defeat.
  • Humphrey-Rembert is a one-time Patriot League Rookie of the Week this season. He ranks fifth in the Patriot League in three-pointers (38), sixth in rebounding (5.9), sixth in three-pointers per game (2.1), sixth in blocks (14), sixth in blocks per game (0.8) and seventh in three-point percentage (40.4).
  • As of Jan. 15, Mark Butler is 17th in the NCAA and first in the Patriot League in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.5).
  • As of Jan. 15, Lafayette ranks 355th out of 361 NCAA teams in bench points per game (11.8).
  • Lafayette ranks eighth out of 10 Patriot League teams in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (329th). They are 313th in offensive rating (100.9) and 330th (116.7) in defensive rating.
LAST TIME THEY MET: 
  • Holy Cross is 42-38 (.525) in the series history against Lafayette which began back in 1947. Lafayette has won 12 of the last 17 meeting and the Crusaders have not earned a win in Easton since, March 5, 2019.
  • In their last meeting on March 4, 2025 Lafayette earned an 69-68 win. Then-sophomore Joe Nugent scored 17 points with five three-pointers and three rebounds in the defeat.
