AMHERST, Va. — The Holy Cross men's golf team sent senior captain Nolan Schuermann to the NCAA Amherst Regional hosted by Liberty University at the Poplar Grove Golf Club from May 11 through 14.
Schuermann tied for the individual Patriot League Champion title after putting up a 208 (-2) performance at the 2025 Patriot League Championship hosted by Bucknell on Apr. 25-27 at the Bucknell Golf Club. He won the playoff to earn an individual bid into the NCAA tournament. The captain joins former Crusader squads from 1982 and 1983, who attended the tournament as a team after winning the New England NCAA Qualifier in back-to-back years, as the only Holy Cross representatives in program history to make an appearance in the NCAA tournament.
After three rounds of the 54-hole course, Schuermann finished in a shared 49th place after firing a 74 on day one, a 74 on day two and a 71 on the final day of play for a 219 (+9) performance.
COACH'S CORNER:
- "Nolan's performance at the NCAA Regionals was spectacular, especially during his final round 71. He'll look back at his performance in Virginia as a remarkable capstone on a stellar career at Holy Cross," said Director of Golf Steve Napoli. "There's nothing that Nolan has done or will do in the future that will surprise me. He's a Crusader forever in all respects."
