WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head men's basketball coach
Dave Paulsen has announced the addition of four student-athletes to his program's incoming class.
Will Aljancic (Louisville, Ohio),
Tim Finau (Dallas, Texas),
Jude Haigh (Altoona, Pa.) and
John St. Germain III (Charlottesville, Va.) have signed with the Crusaders and will join the Holy Cross program in the summer of 2025. These four will enroll alongside
Aiden Disu (Buda, Texas), who previously
signed in November.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jude, Tim, Will and John to our Holy Cross basketball family," said Paulsen. "Each one of these individuals comes from a highly successful basketball program and fills a need in our program. More importantly, each individual has distinguished himself as an outstanding student who will embrace and excel within the academic culture at Holy Cross, and as a person of the highest character who will thrive in our team first environment. I can't wait to get to work with each one of these guys in June."
Aljancic is a 6-foot-6, 215-pound forward who spent the last two seasons at the University of Findlay (Ohio). He was named first team All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference in 2024-2025, after leading the Oilers to an overall record of 24-5 and the G-MAC regular season title. Aljancic averaged a team-best 13.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, while hitting 47.7 percent of his field goal attempts. He previously put up 9.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game during the 2023-2024 campaign. Aljancic is a graduate of Louisville (Ohio) High School, where he played for head coach Tom Siegfried. A two-time Stark County Player of the Year and a three-time All-Ohio High School Athletic Association selection, he averaged 18.7 points per game during his high school career, broke 14 program records and had his number retired.
Paulsen on Aljancic: "Will is exactly the type of versatile, physical, athletic wing we were targeting this spring. He led his team in points, rebounds and trips to the foul line while carrying his team to a conference championship and a spot in the Top 10 in Division II. I love Will's competitive streak, his basketball IQ and his passion to get better. Will brings a college-ready body and tremendous experience which should ease his transition to the Division I level."
Finau is a 6-foot-11, 225-pound forward, who is currently completing a post-graduate year at the Athletes in Action Prep Academy in Xenia, Ohio, where he played for head coach Bryan Weakley. During the 2024-2025 season, he helped lead Athletes in Action to a 38-9 overall record. Finau previously attended Colleyville Heritage High School in Colleyville, Texas, playing for head coach Stephen Hamrick. During his senior season at Colleyville Heritage, he averaged 10.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game, while hitting 65.3 percent of his field goal attempts and leading the Panthers to an overall mark of 29-7.
Paulsen on Finau: "Tim has great size, excellent hands, a strong low-post game, and is a very effective passer out of the post. He was on assistant coach
Ted Rawlings' radar since the day we were hired. Tim made phenomenal progress in his conditioning, intensity and mental approach to the game in his prep year at Athletes in Action. He has been exceptionally well-coached in both high school and prep school, and his best days are ahead of him."
Haigh is a 6-foot-5, 200-pound guard / forward, who played for head coach Logan Brown at Green Canyon High School in North Logan, Utah. He averaged 22.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game during his senior year, while hitting 82 three-point field goals, earning Class 4A State Player of the Year honors and leading the Wolves to an overall record of 25-2 and a state runner-up finish. Haigh previously attended Bishop Guilfoyle Academy in Altoona, Pa., where he played for head coach Chris Drenning. He scored 1,475 points during his three seasons with the Marauders, and was twice named an Altoona Mirror first team All-Star.
Paulsen on Haigh: "Jude is an elite shooter who literally grew up in a gym. His father is a Division I women's basketball coach, his mother was a standout at Notre Dame and his older brother was a member of the Mount St Mary's team that went to the NCAA tournament this year. Jude is a gym rat with great size, IQ and a competitive streak on the court. He made phenomenal strides this season in Utah, and we're excited to be a part of his basketball journey."
St. Germain is a 6-foot-1, 191-pound guard who spent the last two seasons at Augusta (Ga.) University. He was named third team All-Peach Belt Conference in 2024-2025, after leading the Jaguars to an overall record of 19-11 and an NCAA Tournament appearance. St. Germain averaged 14.6 points, 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game, while hitting 56.0 percent of his field goal attempts and 45.5 percent of his three-pointers. He previously put up 8.7 points and 2.7 assists per contest during the 2023-2024 campaign. St. Germain is a graduate of St. Anne's-Belfield School in Charlottesville, Va., where he played for head coach Damin Altizer. He averaged 11.7 points and 5.3 assists per game as a senior, while leading the Saints to a 27-4 record and a state runner-up finish.
Paulsen on St. Germain: "John is a pure point guard whose fingerprints were on every aspect of Augusta's run to the NCAA tournament this year. He had better than a 2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio, led his team in steals and shot 87 percent from the foul line. He is a natural leader and has thrived in veteran coach Dip Metress' sophisticated system. I can't wait to start working with John when he arrives on campus in June."
Holy Cross will be entering its third season under Paulsen in 2025-2026.
