LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Holy Cross men's golf team concluded the 2024-25 season at the Patriot League Championship hosted by Bucknell at Bucknell Golf Club. The team finished in second place overall with play concluding on Sunday, Apr. 27.

Senior captain Nolan Schuermann tied for the individual title after firing a 68 on day one, a 69 on day two and a 71 on the final day of play for a 208 (-2) performance. He won the playoff to earn an individual bid into the NCAA tournament. Schuermann is only the second Crusader in history to win the individual title. He joins former Crusader Matt Czarnecki, who won the honor in 2007.

In the second round of the tournament, sophomore Ryan Scollins shot a 66 (-4) to tie the lowest round in Crusader history as well as the lowest round in the tournament. Scollins tied former Crusader Joe Egan, who fired a 66 on Apr. 15, 2019, at the Rhode Island Invitational.

Director of Golf Steve Napoli was named Patriot League Coach of the Year and both Scollins and Schuermann earned their way onto All-League Teams. Schuermann made All-Patriot League First Team and Scollins was named All-Patriot League Second Team.

After three rounds of the 54-hole course, the Crusaders finished with a score of 850 (+10) as a team, just one stroke behind Loyola (Md.) with 849 (+9), for the Patriot League runner-up position. Holy Cross earned the best team finish in Crusader history with second place overall.

• "Our men played fantastic golf at Bucknell during the Patriot League Championship. To the best of my knowledge, no prior Holy Cross team had finished higher than fourth place in the tournament, which makes our second-place finish more rewarding," said Napoli. "I'm especially grateful to have coached seniors Owen Egan, Grant Passi and Nolan Schuermann the past four years. Their leadership and dedication to the team and academics has been amazing. We anxiously await Nolan's NCAA invitation to the Regionals on Wednesday, which he earned by winning the league championship."

• The Holy Cross men's golf team concludes the 2024-25 season and will return to action in the fall of 2025. Schuermann will continue on as an individual at the NCAA Regionals on May 12-14.
