WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior outfielder CJ Egrie and classmate, right-handed pitcher Jaden Wywoda have been named the Patriot League Player and Pitcher of the Week the league offices announced Monday afternoon.
 
The duo becomes the fourth and fifth different Crusaders to earn league weekly honors this season.

Egrie started and played in all five games for the Crusaders this past week slashing .583/.652/.938 for a 1.590 OPS to go with two home runs, six RBI, 11 runs scored, seven stolen bases, and four walks. He hit .538 (7-for-13) with a .667 on-base percentage and 1.000 slugging percentage for a 1.667 OPS in four Patriot League games. Egrie was 2-for-3 with an RBI, three runs scored, and three stolen bases at Harvard (March 25). During the game one win against Navy (March 30), was 3-for-3 with two home runs, four RBI, three runs scored, a walk, and two stolen bases. In the game two win versus the Midshipmen, Egrie went 2-for-4 with an RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base.

He has reached base in nine straight games and currently has a five game hitting streak. Egrie paces the Patriot League in stolen bases (19) and runs scored (32) while ranking tied for second in walks (21), tied for third in home runs (3), sixth in on base percentage (.438), and ninth in OPS (.888). He needs six more steals to set the single-season program record.

Wywoda Started game one of the March 30 doubleheader at home against Navy. He picked up a win by tossing a complete game shutout striking out a career-high eight batters scattering three hits, and two walks while holding opponents to a .125 batting average against him.

He is currently tied for the Patriot League lead in wins (4) and ranks fourth in strikeouts (38), fourth in ERA (3.79), fourth in opposing batting average (.239) and fifth in innings pitched (38.0).

The Crusaders (13-15, 5-3 PL) continues their nine game homestand on Tuesday, April 1 against nonconference for Merrimack (8-18-1) with first pitch slated for 5 p.m.
