WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team is set to travel to Rochester, N.Y. for a two-game set against RIT at the Gene Polisseni Center on Friday, Feb. 7 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. Both games will stream live on FloHockey, while Friday's game will also be broadcast on NESN+, and Saturday's on NESN.
THE CRUSADERS (15-11-2, 14-4-2 AHA):
- Holy Cross heads to Rochester, N.Y. for their final regular season road trip of the year to face RIT in a two-game set.
- The Crusaders earned five points last weekend, sweeping Canisius behind a 3-2 overtime win on Friday and a commanding 4-1 win on Saturday.
- Senior Liam McLinskey collected his 100th career point in the first period on Saturday, scoring the opening goal of the contest. McLinskey became the first Crusader since 2018 to reach the century mark, completing the feat in less than three seasons of play.
- Senior goaltender Thomas Gale earned Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Month honors for the second time this season. Over the course of January, Gale recorded a .930 save percentage and 2.10 goals-against average, backstopping the Crusaders to a 5-1-1 record in his seven games.
- Gale has been undefeated since the non-conference overtime loss to Omaha in California to open the year, helping the Crusaders pick up 17 points in the six league games he has started since the 2025 opener. Gale recorded 30+ saves in three of the seven games he started and allowed two or fewer goals in five of the seven.
- McLinskey was announced as one of 26 finalists for the Walter Brown Award on Thursday afternoon. The award is presented annually to the best American-born Division I college hockey player in New England.
- McLinskey leads the Crusaders and Atlantic Hockey and is second in New England with 17 goals this season, while his 30 points and 1.07 points per game places him third in the league. McLinskey has recorded nine multi-point efforts this season and has picked up at least a point in seven of the Crusaders' last nine games.
- Holy Cross' kill percentage of 89.5% is the best mark in Atlantic Hockey and ranks third in the nation behind only Western Michigan and Boston College.
- On the other side, the Crusaders power play percentage of 22.4% is the third-best mark in Atlantic Hockey and is good for 20th in the nation.
SCOUTING RIT (6-13-1, 7-20-1 AHA):
- RIT enters the contest with a 6-13-1 record in Atlantic Hockey contests, placing them tenth in the standings, 24 points behind Holy Cross.
- The Tigers swept Air Force in Colorado Springs last weekend, winning Friday's matchup, 2-1, before taking Saturday's game in overtime, 3-2. RIT is 3-5-0 in their eight Atlantic Hockey games since the turn of the calendar.
- Sophomore Tyler Fukakusa leads the team in points (28) and assists (21), while sophomore Matthew Wilde leads in goals with 13.
ALL TIME SERIES:
- The two teams have met 67 times, with RIT leading the all-time series, 38-21-8. RIT is 7-3-0 in the last ten meetings, dating back to the 2021-22 season.
- The two teams met for a weekend set at the Hart Center last season, with the Tigers sweeping behind a 3-2 overtime win and a 3-2 regulation win.
