WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team is set to travel to Northeastern to open their 2025-26 campaign on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. The matchup will stream live on ESPN+.

THE CRUSADERS (0-0-0, 0-0-0 AHA):
- Holy Cross will open their 2025-26 campaign against Northeastern at Matthews Arena on Saturday.
- The Crusaders enter the season with the fourth-most returning goals in the nation (94), third-most returning points (270) and eighth-highest percentage of returning goals (72%).
- Holy Cross returns 20 letterwinners from last year's Atlantic Hockey Regular Season Champion team, including Atlantic Hockey Second Team selection senior Mack Oliphant, Third Team selection senior forward Devin Phillips, and All-Rookie Team selection sophomore forward Matt Kursonis.
- The Crusaders added ten new faces in the offseason in six freshmen and four transfers.
- Oliphant suits up Saturday with the third-most games played by a defenseman among active players with 115, just one behind leaders Nic Belpedio (Ferris State) and Luke Mittelstadt (Minnesotta), and stands in ninth among all active players.
- Oliphant's 44 career assists stand in the top-10 among active defenders this season.
- Senior forward Matt DeBoer's 118 games played is tied for the second-most among all active skaters this season.

SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN (0-0-0, 0-0-0Â HEA):
- Northeastern finished the 2024-25 season with a 14-20-3 overall record, with a 7-14-3 mark in Hockey East play.
- The Huskies return 14 letterwinners from last season, while adding 14 newcomers.
- Among Northeastern's newcomers is junior forward Tyler Fukakusa, whom the Crusaders faced off against the last two seasons while he was at Atlantic Hockey rival RIT.

ALL TIME SERIES:
- Holy Cross is 1-6-1 all-time against Northeastern, dating back to the 2001-2002 season.Â
- The teams last met on Oct. 8, 2021 in the opening round of the Ice Breaker Tournament, held at the DCU Center in Worcester. The then-no. 18 Huskies blanked the Crusaders, 3-0.
- Holy Cross' lone win against Northeastern came on Oct. 29, 2010 at Matthews Arena. The Crusaders won the matchup, 4-3, in overtime.
