The Holy Cross men's basketball team returns home to face Lafayette on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m.. The contest between the Crusaders and the Leopards will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+. Holy Cross be holding it Academic Recognition Night, honoring all student-athletes who had a 3.5 or better grade point average during the fall semester. This will also be the Crusaders' Cousy Cup game.
Holy Cross owns an overall record of 12-15 on the year, with a 4-10 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders are coming off a 72-60 setback at Lehigh on Saturday. Freshman guard
Max Green leads the team by averaging 14.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Sophomore forward
Joe Nugent has added 12.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest, while senior forward
Caleb Kenney is chipping in with 11.2 points, 4.5 boards and 0.9 blocks per game.
Lafayette stands 10-17 overall this season, including a 5-9 record in the Patriot League. The Leopards have dropped five of their last seven games, including a 75-69 loss to Bucknell on Saturday. Freshman guard Alex Chaikin has led the team by averaging 12.5 points per game while hitting 44.1 percent of his three-point attempts. Senior center Justin Vander Baan has put up 12.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per contest, with freshman guard Caleb Williams adding 10.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
After the contest with Lafayette, Holy Cross will head to Navy for a 2 p.m. game on Sunday, Feb. 23.
