WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross men's ice hockey freshman
Danick Leroux was named Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday morning.
Leroux backstopped the Crusaders to a 4-1 win over Mercyhurst to close out the first half of the regular season, stopping 17 shots.
Leroux's 1.00 goals-against average last weekend led the league, while his .944 save percentage trailed just one other netminder. Overall this season, Leroux's 2.01 goals-against average and .924 save percentage rank fourth in Atlantic Hockey.
Leroux and the Crusaders (10-6-1, 8-1-1 AHA) return to action on Friday, Jan. 2 at Bentley. Game time is set for 7 p.m. in Waltham, Mass.
