WALTHAM, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team tied Bentley, 2-2, Friday night at Bentley Arena. 

Holy Cross moves to 10-6-2 (8-1-2 AHA) while Bentley moves to 9-6-2 (8-1-2 AHA).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Sophomore Owen Kim was the first Crusader to find the back of the net in 2026, cleaning up his own rebound for the only score of the first period with 8:42 remaining.
• Bentley found the back of the net twice in the second period - tying the game with 11:25 to play and taking the lead with 1:00 to go - to take the 2-1 lead into the second intermission.
• Sophomore Noah Eyre tied the game at 2-2 1:36 into the third period, grabbing a pass from senior Timothy Heinke and sending a quick wrist shot past the unsuspecting netminder.
• Neither team was able to score in the remaining time of the third period, sending the game to overtime.
• Holy Cross outshot Bentley 6-3 in the five minute overtime, though neither team was able to find the back of the net.
• Bentley earned the extra point in the Atlantic Hockey standings, taking the shootout, 1-0.

BEYOND THE BOX:

• Freshman Danick Leroux recorded 25 saves in net.
• The two teams played about as even as possible, with shots on goal falling at 27-28, and faceoffs at 28-30, both in favor of the Falcons.

UP NEXT:

• The two teams will faceoff again tomorrow night, Saturday, Jan. 3 at the Hart Center Rink. Puck drop in Worcester, Mass. is set for 7 p.m.
