WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Zach Bubonovich and senior
Jack Greiner both won individual events, as the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving squad concluded competition in the Harold Anderson Invitational at the Tootell Aquatic Center. The Crusaders finished in first place as a team with 943 points, claiming the title for the first time in program history and concluding the weekend 141 points ahead of second place Providence.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Greiner won the 200-yard butterfly with a meet record time of 1:48.43.
• Bubonovich claimed first place in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:03.14.
• In the 400-yard freestyle relay, sophomore
Peter Mottolese, junior
Will Clark, junior
Jake Thompson and Greiner took first place with a time of 3:02.96.
• Clark and Mottolese tied for second place in the 100-yard freestyle (46.01), with Clark adding a personal best time of 45.94 in the prelims.
• Freshman
Anderson Bishop was second in the 1,650-yard freestyle (16:05.00), while freshman
Ethan Steichen came in second in the 200-yard backstroke (1:51.67, personal best).
• In addition, junior
Sullivan Labno posted a personal best time of 1:57.64 in the 200-yard backstroke prelims.
UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will be off until Jan. 17, when it travels to Colgate.
