Men’s ice hockey continues Atlantic Hockey play at Army

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team is set to hit the road to face Atlantic Hockey foe Army for a two-game set on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on FloSports.

THE CRUSADERS (1-4-0, 1-0-0 AHA):
  • Holy Cross is coming into the back-end of a four game in seven day stretch this weekend.
  • The Crusaders won their Atlantic Hockey opener against Mercyhurst on Saturday on the road, before falling to No. 6 Quinnipiac at home on Tuesday.
  • Senior Jack Seymour scored the lone goal for the Crusaders on Tuesday, with senior Mack Oliphant and sophomore Jack Stockfish picking up the assists on the score.
  • Senior Louden Hogg recorded a career-high 41 saves in the loss. Hogg's previous career-best of 32 came in his freshman season against Sacred Heart.
  • The last time Hogg faced the Black Knights on Feb. 10 and 11, 2023, he recorded 85:40 of shutout hockey, blocking seven in relief, and 24 in his first collegiate shutout.
  • Freshman Dax Williams enters the weekend as the reigning Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week, taking home the honors after registering his first collegiate point, blocking a shot, and finishing the game +1 at Mercyhurst.

SCOUTING ARMY (2-1-1, 0-1-0 AHA):
  • The Black Knights got off to a strong start under first-year head coach Zach McKelvie, tying Union in their season opener before winning matchups against Northeastern and Stonehill, before falling on Tuesday in their Atlantic Hockey opener against Canisius, 3-1.
  • Army returns 24 players from last season, and welcomes six freshmen to the fold.
  • The Black Knights are led on offense by Adam Marshall (2-1-3) and Vincent Salice (2-0-2). Netminder JJ Cataldo has backstopped every game for Army so far this season, posting a 1.49 goals-against average and .958 save percentage.

ALL TIME SERIES:
  • Friday's game will be the 103rd meeting between the two squads.
  • Army holds the narrow lead in the series, 49-41-12, though Holy Cross holds a 6-4-0 record in their last ten meetings, dating back to the 2022-23 season.
  • The two squads last met in the Atlantic Hockey semifinals last season at the Hart Center Rink on March 14 and 15, 2025. Holy Cross swept the series, winning game one, 3-2 in overtime, and game two by a decisive 5-1 score.
