WORCESTER, Mass. – The 200-yard medley relay team set a new pool record, but the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team was defeated by Bucknell 163-137 at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. The Crusaders fall to 0-2 on the year, while the Bison begin the season at 1-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The 200-yard medley relay team of senior
Jack Greiner, senior
Zach Bubonovich, freshman
Andrew Villani and junior
Will Clark broke the Hart Center Pool record with their first-place time of 1:33.61.
• Holy Cross also won the 200-yard freestyle relay, with the team of sophomore
Peter Mottolese, freshman
Cole Abril, Clark and junior
Jake Thompson finishing in a time of 1:25.28.
• Bubonovich led the Crusaders in the individual events, winning the 100-yard breaststroke (57.23) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:07.47).
• Sophomore
Griffin Casey placed first in both the one-meter (276.30) and three-meter (316.88) diving.
• Greiner came in first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.44), in addition to finishing second in the 200-yard backstroke (1:53.62) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:56.22).
• Mottolese added a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (47.29).
UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will return to action on Friday, Oct. 24, when it travels to Iona for a 4 p.m. meet.
