WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team won by a 157-139 score on Senior Day against nonconference opponent Connecticut College Sunday afternoon in the Hart Center Pool.
The victory was the third in a row for the Crusaders (4-2) while the Camels fall to 3-3 on the season.
The 200-yard medley relay team of junior
Jack Greiner, junior
Zach Bubonovich, junior
Alex Michael and sophomore
Will Clark earned the win at 1:35.87.
Greiner and freshman
Peter Mottolese were 1-2 in the 200-yard freestyle with times of 1:44.06 and 1:44.51 respectively. Greiner tallied another first place showing in the 200-yard backstroke at 1:55.51. Mottolese also was first in the 100-yard freestyle at 47.41.
Michael (51.91), senior
Rory Hess (51.97) and Mottolese (52.76) swept first, second and third in the 100-yard butterfly.
During the final swimming event, the 200-yard freestyle, Mottolese, sophomore
Jake Thompson, Clark and Michael hit the wall first at 1:25.98.
In the diving events, sophomore
Luke Parada placed first on the one-meter board at 286.70 while freshman
Griffin Casey posted a 336.25 score in the three-meter dive.
Holy Cross will be back in action for the Patriot League Championship on Feb. 19 to Feb. 22 hosted by Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pa.
