The Holy Cross men's basketball team hits the road this weekend, heading to Lafayette for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday, Jan. 11. The contest between the Crusaders and the Leopards will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.
Holy Cross owns an overall record of 10-6 this year, with a 2-1 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders have won five of their last six games, and are coming off a 70-59 victory over Navy on Wednesday night. Freshman guard
Max Green leads the team by averaging 14.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, while hitting 38.6 percent of his three-point attempts. Sophomore forward
Joe Nugent has added 12.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest, while senior forward
Caleb Kenney is chipping in with 11.3 points, 4.3 boards and 1.1 blocks per game.
Lafayette stands 6-10 overall this season, including a 1-2 record in the Patriot League. The Leopards have lost their last two games to Navy (71-70) and Bucknell (65-62 in overtime). Senior center Justin Vander Baan has led the team by averaging 11.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game, while hitting 47.6 percent of his field goal attempts. Freshman guard Alex Chaikin has put up 11.3 points per contest on 52.2 percent shooting from three-point range, with freshman guard Caleb Williams adding 9.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
After the contest with Lafayette, Holy Cross head to Bucknell for a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
