GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Holy Cross women's golf team finished in 11th place at the Lady Bison Invitational hosted by Howard at the Hawkstone Country Club.
Sophomore Kate Hong competed individually, finishing the highest of any Crusader. She fired a 75 in the first round and 76 in the second round on day one. On the final day of play she shot an 81 for a 232 (+19) performance which gave her a share of 20th place. Sophomore Phoebe Chamian was Holy Cross's top finisher coming in a shared 47th place. She shot a 83 and 87 on day one and a 75 on day two for a 245 (+22) performance.
After three rounds of the 72-hole course, the Crusaders finished with a score of 1000 (+148) as a team.
COACH'S CORNER:
"We are a very young team which needs to gain tournament experience and come together as we head to the Patriot League Championship. Phoebe Chamian, on the strength of a final round 75 led the way for those in the starting lineup," said director of golf Steve Napoli. "Kate Hong (76-75-81) and Liz Garfield (81-80-79) competed as individuals and once again had solid tournaments, I expect them to build on their performances as our season progresses."
