LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior
Julianna Megan finished in 10th place as an individual, to lead the Holy Cross women's golf squad to a sixth place team finish in the Bucknell Invitational at the Bucknell Golf Club.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:
• Megan shot 74-75-79 to finish the weekend at 18-over par (228).
• Sophomore
Sophia Cellura came in 21st, posting scores of 76-75-81 (232).
• Senior
Caleigh Noonan earned a 30th place finish, shooting 74-81-80 (235).
• Rounding out the field for the Crusaders were senior
Kate Hong (36th / 237), senior
Tess Breslin (42nd / 238) and senior
Phoebe Chamian (42nd / 238).
• Joelle Johnson and Katherine Vice of Bucknell finished in a tie for first at 10-over par (220).
TEAM SCORES:
• Bucknell won the team title with a three-round total of 885 strokes (45-over par).
• Holy Cross finished with a total of 928 strokes.
COACH'S CORNER:
"Our Crusaders played extremely well during the first round, which may have been a school record for our women's team," said head coach
Steve Napoli. "Their second round was solid, especially with a strong comeback on the back nine, which we repeated on the final day."
UP NEXT:
• The Crusaders return to action when they take part in the Navy Fall Invitational at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md., from Oct. 4-5.
