WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross women's tennis team was defeated by Colgate 5-2 at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility. The Crusaders fall to 1-5 on the season, while the Raiders improve to 8-7 overall.

DOUBLES ACTION:

• Colgate began the day by winning all three doubles matches to take the doubles point.

SINGLES PLAY:

• The Raiders posted wins at the No. 1, 3 and 5 singles positions to finish the day.
• Holy Cross held leads in the two remaining singles matches, before play was stopped once the overall result had been determined.
• Sophomore Ashley Zilora took the 7-5, 6-0 win over Amelia Galin at the No. 2 spot, while junior Caroline Fredey defeated Eliza Podlas 6-4, 7-5 at No. 4.

NEXT UP:

• The Crusaders will return to action on Wednesday, March 20, when it travels to New Haven for a 3 p.m. match.
