WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross women's tennis team fell twice 4-0 to Colgate in its Patriot League opener on March 14 and 5-2 at Providence on March 15.

Holy Cross moves to 2-9 with the losses and 0-1 in Patriot League play.

COLGATE DOUBLES ACTION:

• Colgate took all three doubles matches for the doubles point.
• Freshmen Phoebe Devine and Margaret Winiecki suffered a tough loss in the tiebreak at No. 1 7-6 (9-7).

COLGATE SINGLES PLAY:

• The Raiders won the first three singles matches to clinch the win.

PROVIDENCE DOUBLES ACTION:

• The Crusaders earned the doubles point taking two of the three matches.
• Devine and senior Ashley Zilora won 6-3 at No. 1
• Senior Maddie Hamm and freshman Hannah Flynn captured a 7-6 decision at No. 3.

PROVIDENCE SINGLES PLAY:

• The Friars earned five of six singles matches for the victory.
• Devine earned a 6-1, 1-6, 6-2 decision at No. 1 singles.

NEXT UP:

• The Crusaders are back in action on Saturday, March 21 at 2 p.m. to take on Patriot League foe Army (18-4, 3-0 PL)
