WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior
Liam McLinskey of the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team has been chosen as the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for the week of Feb. 12 – Feb. 18.
McLinskey posted four points on three goals and an assist over the Crusaders' weekend sweep of Sacred Heart.
McLinskey netted the Crusaders' first and fifth goals in Friday's dominant 5-1 win at the Hart Center. On Saturday, McLinskey forced a turnover in the offensive zone, creating a two-on-goalie situation, before passing to senior
Jack Ricketts to tie the game in the opening minutes of the third period at Martire Family Arena in Fairfield, Conn., before scoring what stood as the game-winning goal five minutes later on the power play to secure the weekend sweep.
McLinskey leads the Crusaders with 39 points on 14 goals and 25 assists. His points and assists are both career highs.
Holy Cross (18-11-4, 13-9-3 Atlantic Hockey) will welcome Bentley to the Hart Center Rink on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. for the final game of the regular season.
