BOSTON, Mass.— The Holy Cross men's track and field teams traveled to the city to partake in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University (BU) on Saturday, Feb. 10. The Crusaders split squads with select athletes from the men's team competing at BU Invite and the rest of the team heading to Kingston, R.I. for the Rhode Island Coaches Invitational.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
- Senior Chris Barone came in 18th in 60m dash with a time of 7.01, a season best.
- Freshman Tristan Miller and senior Matthew Conway had a personal bests in the 400m with Miller crossing the finish line at 50.24 and Conway just behind him with a time of 51.48.
- Sophomore Liam Lyons, freshman Joseph Mahon, senior Rigoberto Alfonso and junior Stephen Joseph all competed in the 800m run. Lyons finished with a time of 1:54.31, followed by Mahon (1:54.69), Alfonso (1:55.08) and then Joseph (1:56.33). Mahon had a personal best in the event.
- Senior Mike Mazzocca took second in the 60m hurdles invitational preliminary round with a time of 8.07 to qualify him for the finals. Mazzocca placed fifth in the finals with a time 8.05. Junior Josh Exantus also competed in the prelims with a time of 8.77.
- The men's 4x400 relay team consisting of Miller, Alfonso, Conway and Joseph claimed a season best time of 3:25.18.

- The Holy Cross track and field teams will return to action for the Indoor Patriot League Championship from Saturday, Feb. 24-25 in Boston, Mass.
