. – The Holy Cross men's swimming and diving program opened competition at the Harold Anderson Invitational hosted by Rhode Island Thursday at the Tootell Aquatic Center.
Through the first day, the Crusaders are in third place with 114 points trailing only Providence (118), Maine (116) and holding a sizable edge over fourth place Wagner (98).
Holy Cross produced their highest score ever in an 800-yard freestyle relay placing second with junior
Alex Michael, junior
Jack Greiner, freshman
Peter Mottolese and senior
Patrick Walsh leading the way at 6:46.41 just a few tenths of a second behind first place.
The men's 200-yard medley relay team with junior
Quentin Miquel, junior
Zach Bubonovich, junior
Chris Villani and freshman
Lucas Golembiewski finished in fifth at 1:33.73. The "B" relay team of sophomore
Will Clark, freshman
Colin McGee, senior
Rory Hess and sophomore
Jake Thompson finished right behind their teammates at 1:34.91.
Miquel (24.81) and Clark (24.86) set lifetime bests with their starts in each 200-yard relay.
Holy Cross will be back in action for the second day of competition tomorrow.
