SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Holy Cross women's swimming and diving program suffered a 188-112 loss to nonconference opponent Bryant Saturday following two days of competition.
The defeat sends the Crusaders to 1-2 on the young season while the Bulldogs move to 3-1 with the win.
Holy Cross hosted the diving events on Friday in the Hart Center Pool. Freshman
Brenna Short placed second on the one (261.83) and three-meter board (261.38).
The meet shifted to Bryant's Chace Center Pool on Saturday. Freshman
Laura Arciniegas tallied a pair of first place individual showings in the 100-yard backstroke (59.44) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.29).
Junior
Ainsley Nalen brought home first place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.87) as well as sophomore
Devin Brindle in the 100-yard freestyle (53.52).
The Crusaders will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 10:00 a.m. for the Worcester City Championship hosted by WPI.
