Ahana Nagarkatti won her singles match, but the Holy Cross women's tennis team was defeated by Assumption 6-1 at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility. The Crusaders fall to 1-3 on the season, while the Greyhounds improve to 10-2 overall.
DOUBLES ACTION:
• At the No. 2 spot, senior
Caroline Carlson and junior
Maddie Hamm defeated Carolina de Souza and Danielle de Souza 6-0.
• Assumption was able to pick up wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions to take the doubles point.
SINGLES PLAY:
• Nagarkatti earned a 6-1, 4-6, (10-4) victory over Marie Knispel at No. 3.
• But the Greyhounds took the remaining five singles matches to earn the overall win.
NEXT UP:
• Holy Cross will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 10, when it begins play in the ITA Northeast Regional in Cambridge, Mass.
