WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross men's swimming and diving began their home schedule in the Hart Center Pool on Friday and earned a 171.5-126.5 victory against nonconference opponent Iona.
Holy Cross levels their record in dual meets to 1-1 on the campaign while the Gaels fall to 2-2.
Freshman diver
Griffin Casey qualified for NCAA Zones twice on the three-meter board (324.30) and the one meter board (316.35), both established new program records.
Junior
Zach Bubonovich dominated the meet with a trio of first place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (58.09), 200-yard breaststroke (2:09.21) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:59.38).
Senior
Rory Hess hit the wall first twice in the 200-yard butterfly (1:56.17) and 100-yard butterfly (52.38).
Junior
Jack Greiner hit the wall first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.18) with teammate senior
Patrick Walsh finishing behind him at 1:46.45.
Sophomore
Austin Cutcher took home a first place showing in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 9:49.93.
Holy Cross will compete against Bryant next weekend with the diving events taking place in Worcester on Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. and the swimming events following at Bryant on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m.
