The Holy Cross men's basketball team will play its second straight home game on Saturday, Jan. 20, when it faces Loyola (Md.) at 2 p.m. on First Responders Day. The contest between the Crusaders and the Greyhounds will be shown live by NBC Sports Boston and the Patriot League on ESPN+.
Holy Cross stands 4-14 overall this year with a 1-4 mark in Patriot League play. The Crusaders are coming off a narrow 72-68 loss to Lafayette on Wednesday. Senior guard
Joe Octave leads the team with averages of 14.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Junior forward
Caleb Kenney has posted 10.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game, while senior guard
Bo Montgomery has added 9.0 points, 4.1 boards and 3.2 assists per contest.
Loyola has an overall mark of 3-15 on the season, including a 1-4 record in the Patriot League. In their last game, the Greyhounds fell to American 66-52 on Monday. Sophomore guard Deon Perry leads the team with averages of 14.5 points, 3.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game, while hitting 90.7 percent of his free throws. Junior guard D'Angelo Stines is also enjoying a solid year, with averages of 9.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
After the contest with Loyola, Holy Cross will travel to American for a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
