WORCESTER, Mass.- Seniors Liz Garfield and Tate Hadges of the Holy Cross women's golf team have been selected to return as team captain for the 2023-24 season, Director of Golf Steve Napoli has announced.
On the course last season, Garfield was Holy Cross's top-finisher in the Quinnipiac Classic (246, T29th), Huntsville Intercollegiate (237, T45th) and St. John's Invitational (159, T26th). So far this season, she was the Crusaders' third top finisher at the Bucknell Invitational coming in 39th place after firing a total of 243 strokes in the 54 hole event. She was the team's second place finisher at the Princeton Invitational coming in a shared 52nd place with Hadges, both shooting 236 in three rounds.
Hadges had a strong season last year and was Holy Cross's top-finisher in the Boston College Intercollegiate placing a shared 50th with 242 strokes over three rounds. This season, she competed at the Bucknell Invitational coming in a shared 53rd place after firing a total of 251 strokes in three rounds. And she competed individually at the Princeton Invitational coming in a shared 52nd place with Garfield, both shooting 236 in the 54 hole event.
Garfield is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection. Both seniors will serve their second year as team captain.
