Men's Rowing

No. 19 men's rowing competes at Eastern Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass. - The No. 19 Holy Cross men's rowing program competed in the Eastern Sprints held on Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday.
 
Facing off in the second heat of the Varsity Heavyweight Eight, the No. 19 Crusaders placed fifth behind No. 7 Harvard, No. 4 Syracuse, No. 14 Pennsylvania, and No. 11 Wisconsin with a time of 5:51.835. In the third level final, the varsity eight faced No. 16 Navy and No. 20 Columbia, finishing third with a 5:45.357.
 
The No. 18 Second Varsity Heavyweight Eight faced off against No. 8 Princeton, No. 2 Brown, No. 9 Northeastern, and No. 15 Cornell, finishing with a time of 5:57.772, good for fifth place and a spot in the third level final. In the afternoon third level final, the Crusaders faced No. 24 Columbia and No. 21 Georgetown, finishing second with a 5:49.984.

The Crusaders' No. 16 Third Varsity Heavyweight Eight faced No. 3 Yale, No. 6 Dartmouth, No. 7 Syracuse, No. 10 Cornell, No. 12 Pennsylvania, and No. 14 Wisconsin in the morning heat, finishing sixth with a 6:00.754, just barely ahead of No. 14 Wisconsin's 6:00.757 finish. In the afternoon petite final, the second varsity eight faced No. 10 Cornell, No. 11 Boston University, No. 9 Navy, No. 12 Pennsylvania, No. 13 Northeastern, and No. 14 Wisconsin. The Crusaders took sixth in the petite final, defeating Wisconsin by almost a second with a time of 5:58.308.
 
The Fourth Varsity Heavyweight Eight faced Yale, Princeton, Brown, Boston University, Northeastern, and Pennsylvania in their morning heat, crossing the finish with a 6:24.709 to take a spot in the petite final. Facing Navy, Boston University, Northeastern, Cornell, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, the Crusaders finished with a 6:12.924.

No. 19 men's rowing will take a three week break before heading to West Windsor, N.J. for the IRA National Championship held on June 1 – 3.
