ANNAPOLIS, Md.—The Holy Cross women's track and field team finished the first day at the Patriot League Championship on Saturday. The team currently sits in fifth place with 17 points. 
 
Sophomore Ella Grey broke the school record in the 60m hurdles and qualified for the finals with a time of 8.63. The record was previously set in 2018 by Isabella DiMare '19 at 8.70.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS:

• Freshman Ester Mokonchu set a personal best in the weight throw at 15.27m.
• Grey, also, set a personal best in the long jump with a mark of 5.55m, taking eighth place.
• Senior Obiamaka Igwenagu claimed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.55m.
• Junior Kiley Ronan set a personal record in the 400m with a time of 58.81. She was closely followed by senior Kate Ashley, who claimed ninth at 57.48.
• In the 800m, freshmen Alex Lusby and Fiona Doherty each set a personal best. Lusby crossed the finish at 2:14.55, followed by Doherty at 2:16.18.
• Freshman Celia Kulis qualified for the finals in the 60m hurdles. Kulis competed in the pentathlon, where she set three personal bests in the long jump (5.05m), shot put (9.44m) and the 60m hurdles (8.84). Her hurdle time qualified her for ECACs. 
• Freshman Giavanna Ciaravino claimed a personal best in the 60m dash at 8.02.
• Senior Annie Lineberger scored second the in the pole vault with a mark of 3.90m.
• Senior Eve Feuerbach finished sixth in the 5k with a time of 17:15.95.
• Sophomore Jane Feeney competed in the pentathlon, setting a personal best in the 60m hurdles (9.38). 

NEXT UP:

• The Crusaders will return to action on Sunday, Feb. 26 to compete in the second day of the Patriot League Indoor Championship.
