The Holy Cross men's basketball team will begin the 2023-2024 campaign when it travels to Siena at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6. The contest between the Crusaders and the Saints will be shown live on ESPN+.
The Crusaders are entering their first year under new head coach
Dave Paulsen, and are coming off a 2022-2023 campaign in which they went 10-22 overall and 7-11 in the Patriot League. Holy Cross returns four starters off last year's team who will look to lead the way this winter: sophomore guard
Will Batchelder (12.3 points, 2.0 rebounds per game), senior guard
Joe Octave (11.9 points, 4.6 rebounds per game), senior guard
Bo Montgomery (11.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists per game) and junior forward
Caleb Kenney (6.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.0 steals per game).
Siena is coming off a 2022-2023 season in which it went 17-15 overall and tied for third place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with an 11-9 record in league play. The Saints will be led by sophomore guard Michael Eley, who averaged 9.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per game last season while hitting 78.2 percent of his foul shots. Sophomore forward Killian Gribben is also back after putting up 2.2 points and 1.9 rebounds  per contest a year ago.Â
After the game with Siena, Holy Cross will travel to Georgetown on Saturday, Nov. 11, for an 8 p.m. contest on Fox Sports 2.
