Women's track and field wraps up competition at the River Hawk Invite

BOSTON, Mass.—The Holy Cross women's track and field team competed at the River Hawk Invitational on Friday.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS:

Seniors Annie Lineberger and Kate Ashley picked up wins in their respective events. Lineberger posted a season best in the pole vault with an ECAC qualifying mark of 3.86. Ashley found a personal best in the 500m with a New England qualifying time of 1:16.39.
Sophomore Maura Switzer placed third in the pole vault.
Sophomore Ella Grey qualified for the 60m hurdles and 60m dash finals. She took third in the hurdles with an ECAC qualifying time of 8.86, followed by a sixth-place finish in the 60m dash.
Senior Eve Feuerbach and sophomore Abby Hughes went two-three in the mile. Both runners claimed a New England qualifying time. In addition to a qualifier, Hughes' time served as a personal best.
In the 800m, freshmen Fiona Doherty (2:16.68) and Alex Lusby (2:16.86) placed seventh and eighth, both earning New England qualifying times.
The 4x400 relay with junior Kiley Ronan, Lusby, sophomore Haley Murphy, and Ashley claimed fifth with a time of 3:57.92.
Senior Emma McClafferty qualified for the weight throw finals with a 14.76m finishing mark.
Three Crusaders qualified for the long jump finals. Grey led the Crusaders with a fourth-place finish (5.35m), followed by seniors Obiamaka Igwenagu (5.32m) and Cymeria Robshaw (5.27m) who claimed sixth and seventh. Later, Igwenagu finished third in the triple jump.

NEXT UP:

The Crusaders will return to action on Feb. 2 and 3 when they travel to Boston, Mass. to compete in the New England Indoor Championship.
