The Holy Cross men's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 14, when it heads to Lafayette for a 1:00 p.m. game. The contest between the Crusaders and the Leopards will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.
Holy Cross enters the game with a mark of 3-2 in the Patriot League and an overall record of 6-12. The Crusaders won three of their last five games, defeating Bucknell (60-58), Navy (74-63) and Loyola (63-55), while falling to American (73-68 in overtime) and Lehigh (76-58). Holy Cross currently ranks third in the Patriot League in three-point field goal percentage defense (33.1 percent) and steals (7.2 steals per game).
Senior forward
Gerrale Gates has led the team by averaging 17.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.5 blocked shots per game, in addition to connecting on 51.2 percent of his field goal attempts. Junior guard
Bo Montgomery has added 11.2 points, 3.8 boards and 2.7 assists per contest, while freshman guard
Will Batchelder is putting up 10.3 points and 2.1 assists per game.
Lafayette currently stands 4-14 overall and 2-3 in the Patriot League. The Leopards have won their last two games, posting victories over Bucknell (74-67 in overtime) and Navy (59-50). Senior forward Leo O'Boyle has led the team by averaging 12.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, while making 44.4 percent of his shots from three-point range. Sophomore guard C.J. Fulton has put up 11.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per contest, with junior forward Kyle Jenkins adding 11.3 points, 5.6 boards and 2.6 assists per game.
Following the contest with the Leopards, Holy Cross will return home to face Colgate on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 7:00 p.m.
